Seaweed use is sustainable because the source material is replenished each year, but seaweed processing and drying is not. It is often oil intensive. This online modelling tool enables SMEs wishing to dry seaweed in a sustainable way using renewable energy to estimate the quantity of seaweed that can be dried if a particular mix of clean sources is installed. The model assumes energy generated all year round will be stored for use during the short seaweed harvesting season.
